Everyone recognizes your radiant smile and boundless energy during the workout sessions. Could you share more about the individual behind that captivating grin?
I've maintained an active lifestyle throughout my entire life. Sports were a constant companion during my younger years, and as a child, I was perpetually outdoors—either pedaling around on my bicycle or engaging in neighborhood games and adventures. These days, my professional commitments keep me stationed at my desk in front of the computer for extended periods, but I still prioritize outdoor pursuits like hiking through bush trails, swimming in local waters, and naturally, participating in Team Body Project routines.
Nothing brings me greater joy than spending quality time with my beloved family. My husband, John, and our three wonderful children—two energetic boys aged 12 and 11, plus our lively six-year-old daughter—are truly the highlights of my world. Basketball holds a special place in my heart, though my troublesome knees have sidelined me from actively playing these days. Whenever I carve out some personal time, you'll find me immersed in a good book, experimenting with new baking recipes, tending to my vegetable garden, strolling through the bush with my faithful cocker spaniel by my side, or of course, sweating it out with a Team Body Project workout.

Your accomplishments with Team Body Project are truly motivating. In what ways have these changes enhanced your overall quality of life?
Similar to so many others on similar journeys, I experienced the frustrating ups and downs of weight fluctuations, always striving to return to what felt like my personal 'healthy baseline'—a target that's uniquely defined for each individual based on their body and circumstances. What I've discovered is that the Team Body Project methodology genuinely delivers results. Through consistent engagement with their workout programs paired with nutritious eating habits, I've successfully shed approximately 20 kilograms.

Yet, the true value extends far beyond mere numbers on the scale. The most profound shift has been in my heightened sense of vitality, improved health markers, and a surge of daily energy that permeates every aspect of my routine. During the challenging times of the Covid pandemic, Team Body Project became my essential anchor to mental well-being and stability, providing a straightforward, accessible method to keep my body moving each and every day without the need for gym equipment or special setups.
Post the birth of my third child, I faced significant hurdles in regaining my fitness momentum, but persistence paid off. I settled into a sustainable rhythm that included a daily 30-minute walk with my dog combined with most-days workout sessions from the program. Consistency over intensity has been my mantra—I avoid daily workouts to prevent burnout and never exceed one session per day. Moreover, every activity I choose remains strictly low-impact to safeguard my joints.
What sparked the beginning of your journey with Team Body Project?
My introduction to Alex happened organically when our kids ended up in the same school class. As we got to chatting over time, she shared insights into Team Body Project, and with her gentle nudge, I decided to sample some of the free classes available. Her encouraging advice was straightforward: 'We offer plenty of complimentary workouts—just dive in and see how they feel!'
Right from the start, I was captivated by the diverse array of workout choices accessible via YouTube and the no-cost subscription option. My inaugural structured plan was Real Start, and much like countless other participants, I found myself utterly engrossed and eager for more. By 2019, I committed to an annual membership, and I've remained fully dedicated ever since, with no regrets whatsoever.
How did you transition from being a viewer of the workout videos to actually appearing as a participant in them?
If someone had suggested years ago that I'd ever feature in a fitness video, I probably would have burst into uncontrollable laughter and collapsed in disbelief! Gracefulness has never been my strongest suit. That said, one day Alex casually inquired if I'd be open to joining a filming session. Though initially hesitant about whether it suited me, I embraced the 'why not' philosophy and agreed to give it a shot.
That's how I first connected with Natarsha, and the three of us—Alex, Natarsha, and myself—quickly formed a close-knit bond. One of the greatest gifts Team Body Project has bestowed upon me is not just enhanced physical health and fitness, but also a vibrant community and lasting friendships that enrich my life beyond measure.

Honestly, there's not a great deal of mystery to uncover because the footage you watch is remarkably authentic and unscripted. We typically record in one continuous take from start to finish, meaning if I appear to be pushing through a tough segment, it's because I genuinely am—sweating and striving just like everyone following along at home. The rare interruptions only occur due to mishaps like a microphone malfunction or other minor technical glitches.
Whenever you see genuine laughter or joy on our faces, rest assured it's completely real. Working with Tarsh, Alex, and Daniel guarantees non-stop hilarity—they have an incredible knack for keeping the mood light and fun. While I haven't had as many opportunities to film alongside Hollie, Luke, and Jaimie, they come across every bit as warm, humorous, and approachable as they do in the videos.
A couple of fun facts for the curious: our filming space lacks air conditioning, so all that visible perspiration is entirely legitimate and hard-earned. We frequently leave the doors flung open to circulate air, which occasionally invites small birds to flutter inside—a charming distraction that adds to the organic vibe of the sessions.
You manage a significant injury. Has this impacted your participation in the workouts?
Coming from a background as a competitive basketball player, my knees have endured substantial wear and tear, resulting in severe osteoarthritis. Over the years, I've undergone a total of seven knee surgeries, including the two most recent ones back in 2018. There was a period when I genuinely believed high-intensity or dynamic workout videos were permanently out of reach for me. Yet, thanks to Team Body Project's thoughtful inclusion of low-impact modifications and standing-only alternatives, virtually every video becomes accessible. I deeply cherish the program's flexibility and the broad variety it offers to accommodate different needs.
In truth, I'm profoundly thankful to have discovered a fitness regimen that I adore—one that has enabled me to stay active and mobile in spite of my knee challenges, reigniting my passion for movement.
Do you have a preferred workout style?
Strength training sessions and those incorporating resistance elements rank as my absolute favorites—they deliver that satisfying challenge and build. Additionally, I'm particularly fond of all the knee-friendly options, which come highly recommended given my personal history.
Which instructor do you feel the strongest connection with?
Alex's relentless drive and Daniel's unwavering motivational style both resonate deeply with me. Early on, I would switch between their sessions to benefit from the unique flavors each brought to the table—one day intensity, the next pure encouragement. These days, I often seek out videos where I'm not appearing, just to mix things up. Lately, I've been thoroughly enjoying Hollie and Luke's fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to training.
